Situated a few kilometres as the crow flies from the Vanoise National Park, and at the heart of the Valmeinier - Valloire slopes (150km of runs), the Valmeinier resort is the latest resort in the Maurienne. It enjoys excellent snow and a remarkable amount of sunshine. At 1500 metres, with direct access to the runs, Valmeinier is a village resort that has managed to retain its authentic character, with its narrow streets and stone houses with their lauze stone roofs.Valmeinier also includes a resort higher up at 1800m, also at the foot of the runs.
